Surrogate model-based multiobjective design optimization for air-cooled battery thermal management systems

چکیده

A well-designed battery thermal management system (BTMS) can achieve optimal cooling performance with less power consumption than a poorly-designed system. However, it is difficult to use the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method perform an effective and design of BTMSs when there are several structural parameters multiple evaluation criteria. In this paper, instead CFD, compound surrogate model based on mixture experts (MoE) developed accurately approximate BTMS different configurations. Then, criteria transformed into multiobjective optimization (MOO) problem, which solved by nondominated sorting genetic algorithm II (NSGA-II). To address nonuniqueness solutions contradiction between criteria, entropy weight (EWM) importance through intercriteria correlation (CRITIC) applied analyze each criterion. Finally, obtained for corresponding weights. The results show that surrogate-based MOO find meets expectations, approach provide guidelines BTMSs.

Design of Parallel Air-Cooled Battery Thermal Management System through Numerical Study

In electric vehicles, the battery pack is one of the most important components that strongly influence the system performance. The battery thermal management system (BTMS) is critical to remove the heat generated by the battery pack, which guarantees the appropriate working temperature for the battery pack. Air cooling is one of the most commonly-used solutions among various battery thermal man...

Surrogate based Evolutionary Algorithm for Design Optimization

Optimization is often a critical issue for most system design problems. Evolutionary Algorithms are population-based, stochastic search techniques, widely used as efficient global optimizers. However, finding optimal solution to complex high dimensional, multimodal problems often require highly computationally expensive function evaluations and hence are practically prohibitive. The Dynamic App...

RBF-based surrogate model for evolutionary optimization

Many today’s engineering tasks use approximation of their expensive objective function. Surrogate models, which are frequently used for this purpose, can save significant costs by substituting some of the experimental evaluations or simulations needed to achieve an optimal or near-optimal solution. This paper presents a surrogate model based on RBF networks. In contrast to the most of the surro...
